City Wide Spring Clean Up Day

Residents will be allowed to dispose of properly prepared trash items free of charge during their regularly scheduled garbage pick-up day on Wed., June 17th.  This service is only available to residents of the City of New Bloomfield who reside within city limits and have existing trash service with the City.

CLEAN-UP GUIDELINES

  • All clean-up items will be picked up on the normal residential collection day.
  • All items must be set at the curb by 5:00 am.
  • All items need to be bagged or bundled so one person can easily handle them.
  • All lumber, guttering and other items of length must be tied in bundles and cut in 4 foot lengths so one person can easily handle the materials.
  • NO HAZARDOUS WASTE of any kind.
  • NO LIQUID WASTE of any type such as paint, pesticide, oil, etc...
  • NO YARD WASTE such as brush, limbs, grass or leaves.
  • NO CAR PARTS such as tires, motor oil, batteries, etc...
  • NO APPLIANCES (hot water heaters, dishwasher, microwaves, etc…)
  • NO CONCRETE or large solid items that could damage the trash company’s equipment.

ANY ITEMS IN QUESTION WILL BE LEFT BY THE ALLIED WASTE DRIVER.

Residential RECYCLING in new bloomfield

There is a large blue recycling bin across from New Bloomfield City Hall on Glenwood Avenue.   Residents have the opportunity to recycle approved products listed below.  Please be courteous and responsible and don’t place unapproved items in the container or trash of any kind in or around the container.  Abuse and/or misuse of the recycle container will result in the container being removed.

 Acceptable items include:

  • Aluminum Cans, Trays, & Foils (no food contamination)
  • Steel Cans, Tin, & Aerosol
  • Plastic #’s 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, & 7 – (refer to chasing arrows)
  • Paper, Phone Books, Magazines, Books
  • Cardboard & Chipboard (pizza, cereal, cake, food, & soda can boxes)
Materials NOT Accepted:
  • NO GLASS
  • NO PLASTIC BAGS OR SLEEVES
  • NO EXPANDED FOAM OR CLEAR POLYSTYRENE (#6-STYROFOAM PLATES, CUPS, ETC.)
