In January 2010 the ‘Show-Me Heroes’ initiative was launched to help Missouri’s Veterans and members of the National Guard & Reserve reconnect with meaningful careers, and to showcase Missouri employers who have pledged to do so. Our Armed Forces and their families have made sacrifices and endured burdens in order to preserve our national security.
On Thursday, November 14, 2013, the City of New Bloomfield was honored with the Flag of Freedom award for partnering with the Show-Me Heroes initiative. Jerry Brown, MWDP Local Veterans Employment Representative, and State Representative Jeanie Riddle presented the award to Mayor Mike Lowe, Sr., a 20 year army veteran himself.
Since partnering with the Show-Me Heroes initiative in 2012, the City has hired three military veterans, including Chief of Police Christopher Hammann pictured above with Mayor Lowe, Jerry Brown, and Rep. Jeanie Riddle. The City of New Bloomfield is proud to honor the sacrifices made by the men and women of our armed services by hiring veterans.
