The City of New Bloomfield boasts of a friendly small community located conveniently right off Highway 54 just 10 miles southwest of Fulton and 10 miles north of Jefferson City (State Capitol) and only 15 miles from Ashland/Columbia.  It’s a convenient 1.5 hour drive to St. Louis airport for those who travel by air frequently and a 2.5 hour drive to the Kansas City airport.  We are also only 45 minutes from Lake of the Ozarks, a popular tourist attaction south along Highway 54.

This bedroom community is a great place to raise a family while enjoying easy access to larger urban areas.  Residents can appreciate a low crime rate thanks to the Holts Summit Police Department and supporting Callaway County Sheriff's Department.  New Bloomfield schools are some of the finest in the state offering small classroom sizes and personalized teaching for Pre-school through 12th grade. 

Several community organizations host events throughout the year for the entire community.  Each spring and summer a Farmer's Market is held on Saturday mornings across from the New Bloomfield Elementary School.  Additionally, the town is planning and zoning protected for homeowners' benefit.

 

Our small town includes a variety of businesses and attractions including Central Bank; Dollar General; Meadow Lake Acres Country Club, an elegant restaurant and beautiful golf course where statewide tournaments are held; several horse boarding & riding stables; Midway 66 convenience store; several professional daycare facilities;  Dr. Kimberly Chitwood, chiropractic physician; Gastineau Log Homes; KRCG Channel 13 News Station; several community churches; a city park and pavilion area; a large event center available for rent; a state championship baseball field and track; Golden Village, a senior retirement community; several automotive repair and sale businesses; several storage unit businesses; and several independently owned businesses.  The City is always pursuing additional businesses growth ideas and welcomes new businesses.  Business licenses are only $25.00 annually.

There are over 300 families living within the city limits of New Bloomfield with a population of 669 (according to the 2010 U.S. Census) and many more living just outside the city limits.  Within just a 3 mile radius we have over 2,000 population and within a 5 mile radius we have over 5,000 population.  Electric service for homes within the city limits is provided by Ameren UE.  The City of New Bloomfield provides water, sewer, and trash services (via Republic Services) for residents living within the city limits.  Because the City has worked very hard over the last 20 years to maintain low rates, residents are currently able to enjoy some of the lowest water and sewer rates in the surrounding area.  

For residents who live just outside the New Bloomfield city limits such as Ryan’s Lake, Milanda Lake, Guthrie area, Hillers Creek, etc… services are provided by Callaway 2 Water District and Callaway 1 Water District for water, Ameren UE and/or Callaway Electric Cooperative for electric, and Missouri American Water for sewer (and/or private lagoon/septic systems).  There are numerous trash service companies available to choose from for residents living just outside city limits.
